Jigsaw Puzzle

Building the software product that I'm building feels like assembling a big jigsaw puzzle. Just when I think I have a complete solution, I realize I have used pieces in the wrong place. I have this urge that makes me want to tear down everything I've done so far.  I'm keeping the product light on features though. I want to get the product out the door as soon as possible. I'll be going back to designing this tonight.

I have been also sleeping in a different room, just so I do not disturb my wife and the baby at night. There has definitely been some adjustments at home/office, since I quit my job. No eating out anymore.

Short Timer

Yesterday was my last day as an employee of someone else. I ran into a colleague on my last day at work, and he said "you're a short timer". I think I got what he was trying to say -- he himself had been at the organization for a "long" time. In any case I have closed that chapter of my career. I was thinking I would take a break for a day or two, but I find myself programming at 6am on a Saturday. I can't stop thinking about this.

My cute son is here, and after spending two weeks with him I was ready to go back to the summer of hackathons. Last weekend,  I got the engine to run and made sure the android implementations were correctly interfaced. My colleague worked on implementing test cases. Next stop -- build the client tool!

It Begins!

We started "hacking" about two weeks ago. So far things have been going slow, and we only had 3 sessions, but we are making progress. We now have two projects that we are currently working on. We also decided not to use Git Hub as a software repository. It was too problematic for collaborating with others, we kept over-writing each other changes. It seemed like the eclipse plugin  was very buggy! So much valuable time was lost trying to just make plain "commits".

I will be taking a short break for the arrival of my baby :) but will resume soon. Hopefully, the series of events on my calendar, dubbed "Summer of Hackathons", will be true to its name.
